Despite its shortcomings the Maxi was an innovative design.
It was one of the very first hatchbacks. It had five doors
including a tailgate, five forward gears and best of all folding
seats. If you wanted to, you could even turn the seats into
a double bed. Its not surprising that car built itself a steady
following amongst the motoring public. The car however was
more than just a people carrier. According to our research
the Maxi has been used as a Rally Car, Police vehicle, Ambulance
