Mark Pacey reports on the premier event of the year, held at the NEC in Birmingham.

The club had a very good weekend at the NEC, with a lot of interest in the Maxi and a lot of positive comments. The stand was well received, with the It's a Maxi Adventure theme being recognised by a lot of people as they passed by. We even won the Best Themed Club Stand award from Classic and Sportscar magazine! The photo's below show some of its builders at the finish (from left to right, Paul and Joyce Jefford, Pip Taylor, Phil Marrison and Anthony Hall. Also, one of Chris Edwards cutting his birthday cake, as he gave up his 60th birthday to help out on the stand. The photo's opposite, show the build up on the Friday.

The cars, loaned by Geoff Naylor, Paul and Joyce Jefford and Chris Edwards, looked good and filled the stand nicely. Originally, we were only going to have one car (the blue one), but when our neighbours pulled out two days before the show and we were asked to fill their space, Chris and the Jeffords very kindly agreed to show their cars, too. Many thanks are due to them all, and to the others who came to help out over the weekend.
