XGV 768K

New owner Chris Kendrick of Oxfordshire writes: XGV 768K is a 1972 Maxi 1750, acquired in July 2007. It has been owned by one gentleman for all its life, and was meticulously maintained by him. It has its original pristine 'passport' with delivery stamp, but no service record. However, there is a well-thumbed Workshop manual, so I assume that he did all servicing and repairs himself. The car came with many old MOT certificates, showing the mileage of 81430 miles to be genuine. It is in almost eerily excellent condition (inside and out) for its age, obviously having been garaged all its life. The only non-standard items are a tow bar, towing mirrors, electronic ignition, and a Fuelsaver device on the fuel pipe. It is a real pleasure to drive, and still well able to keep up with modern traffic whilst averaging 35mpg. I would hazard a guess that it is one of the most original unrestored Austin Maxis on the road today!
