Austin Maxi 1750 (1980) Reg EMU 906V.
MOT til May 2011. Comes with some spare parts including
two hydragas suspension units (one front & one rear) and wheel trimmings and
a few other bits and bobs that will come with the car. Good runner and
starter, recently replaced rear hydragas suspension unit and new starter
motor. 113k miles ish and not complaining. All original interior, which
is in good condition with lovely black velour seats. Extensive service
history. Quirky number plate! No tax at present but MOT til May 2011.
Cosmetically the car is in good condition with the odd spot of rust on the
body as expected but structurally sound. I have used this car as my general
run-around for about a year and a half and am loathe to lose it and the
head-turning that it draws, but such is my impecunious nature that a

Wanted
Does anyone have a
Maxi glove compartment door lock assembly? I believe they were all
the same throughout the model run, but to describe it I would say
that it enables the door to be opened when unlocked by pushing the
button. Many BL glove compartment door locks could only be opened by
using a key to turn the mechanism.

Free 1971 Austin Maxi.
I bought a maxi on ebay that was close to home and seemed quite cheap,
however when i went to pick it up the guy had tried to start it and had
a small engine fire which has bubbled the bonnet paint.
My main passion is ERF trucks and i'm afraid the maxi has just stood
since i bought it, so i'm offering it to your club for free, if someone
is willing to pick it up, i havent been under it but i would guess its
not in the best condition, but it is a 1971 model which means someone
could make use of the log book and what servicable parts remain?

Austin Maxi 1750 for sale. Brown, S Reg, 1977. 62,000 miles. Bodywork in good condition. Tax and MOT until end of April 2010. I am the 4th owner. I love this car, and have thought long and hard about selling it. I originally bought it in 2009 for the Crumball Rally (driving from London to Nice and back via the Alps in 5 days). It sailed over St. Bernard’s Pass in style, cruised through Monte Carlo in 35 degrees and was the sweetheart of the rally. How could I not fall in love with it? It still has the official Crumball Rally stickers on the passenger door and boot. This is half because I’m very proud – and half because I’m afraid that most of the paintwork will come off if I try and remove them. (Whether you see the stickers as a plus or a minus is up to you.) After my triumphant return to the UK, I ‘got rid’ of my other car, and used the Maxi. All was going well until I moved from London to East Sussex. To be honest, I’ve had real problems starting it this winter. It’s just too cold and damp down here. (It starts in London, Gloucestershire and Dorset fine, even when icy. It just won’t start down here, without jump leads and/or a breakdown man.). Once it’s going, it goes for England. And it should. It’s had a new exhaust, new clutch and new starter motor. With a new battery and spark plugs it would probably be fine, and if you own a battery recharger it will probably be fine, but I’m in the middle of nowhere and need something a little more reliable than ‘probably’. The Maxi needs a home with a garage and someone who has the time and inclination to tinker with it. I can only keep it outside and I don’t think this is doing it much good either. (I also can’t afford to run two cars.) Oh, and the left headlight doesn’t work but I have a spare pair of headlights along with a load of other spare parts (that I have no idea what to do with). Austin Maxi 2 1750 HL manual AGT 960X I am selling my Austin Maxi 2 1750 HL manual AGT 960X. First registered in 1982. It passed its MOT yesterday so it is not due until 23rd October 2010! It is taxed until the end of Jan 2010. The car is in generally very good condition, finished in Nautilis Blue with Savanna Beige interior. I don’t think the CD player is original? There is very little rust on the car for a vehicle of it’s age, only a little surface rust, most notably around the lock on the near side front door and on the rear wheel arches. I should point out however that the rear bumper has been hand-painted black and at least 3 of the doors are not originally from that car. The car is a fantastic runner and has never let me down, it starts first time, every time; even in cold mornings and runs very smoothly indeed. The gearbox is a little notchy, but they always are in a Maxi! I have just had the anti-freeze replaced and the radiator flushed out in readiness for the winter. The only other thing I have fixed on the car is the addition of a shield-style front badge as I think this looks better than the correct Austin logo. I am looking for £1,295 for my Maxi. Austin Maxi HL2 1980 “X” Plate 1750 Engine, Russet Brown, 6 Months MOT, 0 Months Tax, 48,000 Miles. I purchased this car as part of a challenge – needless to say every challenge I faced the car with it achieved. In the last 6 months this car has done the following without incident. All departing from Poole (Bournemouth) Le Mans 2009 Reading Festival 2009 In the week my daily runner was in the garage it took me to work and back in Richmond Surrey, for 2 weeks. It pains me to say it but I have fallen in love with this car, but I cannot give it the care it needs to remain a happy little car. I must be sure to find a decent owner for this car because it deserves a decent home. General Condition. For a 1980 BL car there is little rust garaged 90% of its life , but the sills did need welding to get it through the MOT, The car has a new Clutch Plate/Slave Cylinder, brake lines, The carb is perfectly tuned. All lights/electronic systems work as they should, the car still has seat covers from the 80’s included.. front and rear matching. Suspension is up and holding! This car is 100% original and un-molested it even has a MW radio L There are some issues with it that need sorting. To get the car MOT’d I had to put a new steering rack on it – therefore tracking needs attention. It could do with a new front tyre, and finally the drivers seat is broken, at the moment I drive with something supporting the backrest.
