For sale my father's very low milege lovely P-Reg (75/6) maxi.  Been in the family for many years.  29,979 original miles on the clock. It also has a sunroof. Sale due to ill health.  The car is not getting used as much as it should.  Only minus points I am aware of are a boot that its difficult to shut, cracked n/s tail light lens and slightly dented rear bumper.  Car hasn't been used much recently but starts well and I drove it over Christmas.  Tax til end 06/12 and MOT 07/12. After careful consideration it is with regret that I must part with my little Maxi.  She is looking for a new family, one with the same care and enthusiam for Maxi motoring. She has just been MOT'd with no advisories.  She only failed on an out of shape tyre, a side light bulb out and the CO needed adjusting.She has also recently had a new clutch kit and crank seal.She drives very well, crusing lovely at 70 mph and has never let us down.  Mileage is now 81,444.
The body has had repairs completed in the past that could do with tidying up.  The trim as a whole is good, small rip in head lining noted. She also comes complete with a nice folder full of Maxi motoring history.If it wasn't for the fact that I need the space I would not be parting with her. Any questions please dont hesitate to get in touch.

Bermuda blue, black interior.
MOT March 2012, tax end Feb.
4 previous owners; the two prior to me were in the same family and owned it since 1978.
49980 miles, MOTs to support. Off road 1982 - 2003! Partially restored & resprayed in 2003.
Mechanically excellent; even the cable gearchange! New exhaust, steering rack, brake discs & pads and balljoints.
Fantastic interior; the only slight blemish being a small tear to the (original) carpet near the handbrake.
Unfortunately the bodywork is starting to deteriorate again. Rust in door bottoms. Nearside wing bubbling around the headlight but new one to go with car.  Front valance has two small holes, and nearside sill has a hole near the jacking point.
Despite the above it is still a very presentable car which draws much attention. I am offering it for sale in the hope that someone with the requisite skills/time/money can take it on and make it something special.

Full 1750cc single carburettor Austin Maxi engine and 5 speed gearbox including radiator and auxiliaries ready to drop in and run. It was taken out of a low millage Austin Maxi and ran smoothly. The engine has been dry stored and is in good condition.

I have been left an austin maxi 1st registered in 1969 in blue which is a 1500. by my late grandfather. which was garaged since 1996 and has not moved since I have all the paper work for the car and it has only 1 owner from new. I have had a few interests in restoring the car but I don't think there is much that needs doing to it as the weather has not got to it. Sorry I don't have any pictures of the car as it is not at my place as yet. im not sure what the mileage on the car yet but i will find out asap! more than welcome to view the maxi it is on the outskirts of london. 1979 1750 HLS 5 door saloon the reason for sale is my mums second husband died nine years ago and now she has got to move out of her house into sheltered accommodation. the car has been locked up in a garage ever since. Clearing out my garage I found two headlamp sealed beam units which I think belonged to my old Maxi (BYV 174 H) which was scrapped c.1993. The Unit numbers, as marketed by Halfords, are Main/Dip Beam 5731 and Standard Headlamp with sidelamp aperture 7014/7002. First come first served - as long as I see your Maxi.

Maxi/Allegro wheels x 2 in good condition below is a picture of 1 of the wheels I would like to replace

Currently fitted to a 1 off build boat trailer – it has 9 slots. Research strongly suggests that it is from a Maxi/Allegro – If correct, the rim spec. is:
Rim width 4.50C (measured where the tyre sits on the wheel, not the total width across the flanges) Rim Profile SL
Centre hole bore 69.85 mm PCD 114.3 mm Bolt Holes 13.46 mm Inset (not called offset, measured from the mounting face to the centre of the rim) 57.9 mm
Dunlop part No. LP 1148A (this is stamped on the wheel on the outside of the rim).
Tyre size, as currently fitted: 155R13 78T.

What he needs is a 13H5471  bearing for 3rd Motion shaft. He would prefer a brand new bearing but a good used bearing might do.

This car was taken off the road 10 years ago, and has been kept in an open sided barn. It is still covered by SORN. The bodywork is now beyond repair, however the engine started easily after 6 years of standing, and runs well. It has done 140,000 miles, but compressions are good, and oil consumption was minimal when last used. The main point of interest are the Hydragas units. I used the car as a test bed for re-pressurising the gas chambers, the late Morry Cook had another set. There are many other parts to go with it, including 4 alloy wheels from an Allegro Equipe.
