Greetings from Tampere, Finland: Here are some pictures of my Maxi. Unfortunately most of the pictures
I took when I restored the car have vanished due to problems with my digital
camera. However.....
The car was first registered in 1972, the first owner having driven about
85,000 kilometers in it. I got the car in 1997 and it was back on the
road again in about five years. As you can see from the pictures on the
"Restoration" page the car was in a really poor condition. To
date I have driven about 1000 kilometers in it.
The car has been registered in Finland as a museum vehicle which means
that I don't have to pay an annual car tax. You are entitled to drive
a museum vehicle in Finland for 30 days a year ........... ....... the
insurance is really cheap.
My hobby with British cars started when I bought my first Mini in 1986
when I was 16 years old. I have owned several Mini's during the last few
years. The one I'm driving at the moment (2004) is a 1976 one. My dream
project is to restore my 1960 Morris Mini Minor Deluxe. I also have a
1982 Metro, but at the moment I haven't had the energy to fix it.
