Membership/ Treasurers Report : The Club Secretary, Christine Jackson, reported that a small loss had been incurred during the year. Reserves (cash at bank), currently amounted to £3,300.
Although membership had again declined, the rate at which it's falling, is slowing. Currently there are about 160-170 fee paying members. It's proposed to increase the annual subscription to £22 for the year 2009/10 (this was proposed and accepted by the meeting).
Copies of the Clubs Accounts were distributed to those present.
Editors report : The Magazine Editor, Mark Pacey, reported that he was running short of material for the club magazine and invited those present to submit ideas (etc) for inclusion. Mark informed the meeting that he was going to resign as Editor at the end of the year.
Spares report : Ernie Jackson (AGM Spares) stated that he'd been able to buy only a few spare parts during 2007/8. He said that very few spares were being sold at Autojumbles. Many parts, he said, were now difficult to source. Two possible sources that he'd been investigating (X-Part and a Swiss outlet), had been unsuccessful. Despite assurances to the contrary X-Part denied having any Maxi spares when formally approached and the Swizz operation would have proved too expensive to pursue.
Technical Advisors Report : Chairman, Mark Pacey announced that the post of Technical Officer was now vacant. Mark thanked the previous post holder, Brian Winn, for his efforts over the years,
Vacant Spares and Technical Advisor posts : During the meeting it was proposed that Morry Cook be invited to take over the vacant roles of Spares Advisor and Technical Officer. Morry, who was present at the meeting, accepted.
Events Report : Anthony Hall said that the club stand at the 2007 Classic Car Show, at the NEC in Birmingham, had been a success. Although the pitch was smaller than in previous years, it was more central and those taking part said that they felt more involved with the show. Three cars were on the stand, those owned by Steve Rose, Andy Dyer and Mark Pacey. Anthony thanked everyone for their help and asked for volunteers for this years stand at the show, being held on the 14th, 15th and 16th November. Anthony informed those present that this years Maximeet would be held at Quarry Bank Mill and Styal Estate, Cheshire.
Hugh Roberts Memorial Trophy : Each year the club committee awards this trophy to the person (who in their opinion) has contributed most to the club during the year. The winner this year was Bryan Gellet,t for his hard work in arranging last years Maximeet at Bowood House.
Regalia : Regalia Secretary, Ernie Jackson, reported that despite discounting current items in stock, little had been sold. The club had reluctantly decided therefore not to buy any more regalia for the time being.
Webmasters report : The webmaster announced his retirement from the end of next year. During the coming year he said he hoped to complete the parts database and place some video/ films on the site.
Rule changes and club management : The committee proposed several rule changes and a change in the organisation of the clubs management. These were accepted by the meeting. Details to follow in the club magazine.
